Political Data Interface in R

This package provides easy access to various political data APIs directly from R. For example, you can access Google Civic Information API < https://developers.google.com/civic-information/> or Sunlight Congress API < https://sunlightlabs.github.io/congress/> for US Congress data, and POPONG API < http://data.popong.com/> for South Korea National Assembly data.

Usage

Get API keys.

Install polidata from source.

install.packages("/path/to/polidata", type="source", repos=NULL)

Import polidata, and initialize with API keys.

library("polidata")
InitPolidata()

Call API with method type.

PopongAPI("bill")
PopongAPI("party")
PopongAPI("person")
SunlightAPI("legislators")
SunlightAPI("committees")
SunlightAPI("bills")
SunlightAPI("votes")
