Differential Functioning of Items and Tests

A set of functions to perform Raju, van der Linden and Fleer's (1995, ) Differential Functioning of Items and Tests (DFIT) analyses. It includes functions to use the Monte Carlo Item Parameter Replication approach (Oshima, Raju, & Nanda, 2006, ) for obtaining the associated statistical significance tests cut-off points. They may also be used for a priori and post-hoc power calculations (Cervantes, 2017, ).


DFIT 1.0-1

  • added functionality to CutoffIpr so that it may calculate the asymptotic variance-covariance matrices without

  • providing them. Also added parameter nullGroup to specify which item parameters should be considered for the item

  • replicates when calculated by the function.

  • added logistic parameter to DeltaMhIrt function

  • removed use of not exported functions in the demos

DFIT 1.0-2

  • fixed CITATION

DFIT 1.0-3

  • fixed citation to Raju, van der Linden & Fleer's 1995 paper.
  • now imports stats functions that resulted in no visible bindings in more recent versions of R.
  • added citation to JSS paper.
